At the very beginning of creation, only Brahm existed. In this universe, Brahm is one and unique, which is why there is only one temple of Lord Brahma on Earth. Counting itself begins from zero, because before creation there was only emptiness—shunya. When the universe was in this state of nothingness, nothing existed.
From this emptiness, one part emerged—just like a child is born from the womb—and that was Brahm, the supreme knowledge. This is why the first count becomes one. From Brahm, another part emerged, which was Mahadev (Shiva), making the count two. From Mahadev came Hari (Vishnu), and the count became three. In this way, creation continued, with each form giving rise to another, and numbers kept increasing.
The universe is still expanding because creation is still happening. Every living soul born on Earth each day is believed to be given by Brahm. This is an ongoing process of life and existence.
Another truth is that the original name of this land was Bharat. When the Treta Yuga arrived, Lord Rama, Lakshman, Bharat, and Shatrughna were born. During Rama’s 14 years of exile, Bharat also gave up royal comfort and refused to live in the palace until his brother returned. This great sacrifice of Bharat is believed to be the reason the country was named Bharat.
In this universe, the gods are said to have created 14 worlds (lokas). The Hindu calendar follows the lunar cycle, where after 14 days the moon reaches either Purnima (full moon) or Amavasya (new moon). Completion comes after 14 days—this pattern reflects the rhythm of creation itself.
In the same way, counting and creation continue even today. When people ask, “How many are connected to you?”, they are unknowingly speaking the language of Brahm. This is why it is said: Brahm alone is the truth.
The first age was called Satya Yuga because it was the age of truth—the age of Brahm. Lord Rama was truth itself, and truth, in its purest form, is nothing but Brahm.
